    Worked perfectly for me. All as expected. Easy to use. Saved my totally flat battery which an auto intelligent charger would not do.

    Only piece of advice is that it would be helpfil if instructions explained how to know when battery charged. On the front gauge mine showed nothing for 30 seconds (thought it was broken but battery just totally flat) then went to 4amps for about 7 hours then started to reduce to 2amps for a few more ideas. I THINK that meant the battery was filling up but a guide would have been helpful. Anyway, charged for 14 hours and battery seemed right as rain. I have no idea how fully charged the battery is but it works and now the car will charge it up. Hope that helps.

    This is a basic charger (i.e. not some fancy 'microprocessor controlled' wonder machine) so I was already aware that it couldn't be turned on and left alone 'for ever'. So, first the plus points :-

    1) Decently long battery leads (just under 2m), which allowed me to leave the charger on the floor and (just) run the cables to the car battery (without having to balance the charger on the engine block)
    2) Proper charging current meter (i.e. shows amps going into the battery) - rather than the some stupid 'volts' meter some other chargers have.
    3) A 'resettable' cut-out button - this is streets better than having to replace the fuse that most other chargers have
    4) Good for both 12v and 6v batteries

    Now the 'minus' points - to be honest these are all very minor points ..
    1) Whilst the leads reach the battery (just), that's only with the charger on the floor directly below the battery position = and I have a smallish car - if yours is a SUV or similar, chances are they won't reach
    2) The meter is marked to 10A, however the charger is only rated to 4.5A .. a quick glance at the meter when it's charging a totally flat battery at 'maximum' (actually, about 5A) looks like it's already 'half charged' (the current drops to near zero when the battery is fully charged)
    3) On the back there is 'round' vent that looks like the output of a fan .. as far as I can tell, there isn't one - so the unit is almost totally silent in operation (so quite that I thought at first it was bust :-) ) - if you put your ear to the 'fan' you can hear a faint hum ..
    4) When charging sealed batteries (i.e. almost all modern car batteries) you MUST remove the charger when the battery is fully charged == if you don't, the battery will overcharge and start to gas out - eventually the internal gas pressure will be released via the 'overcharge' vent ... and because the battery is sealed you can't just go and refill it with electrolyte like you could with older ones ...

    In short - DON'T leave this connected 'for ever' in the expectation that it will 'trickle charge' e.g. your caravan battery during the off season - if you do, eventually the battery will run dry (it won't do the charged any harm, but you will be buying a new battery)

    So far so good. its a replacement for another make if charger that didn't last long but as I say so far it works well it seems sturdy does what it's supposed to. its not super quick but it wirks and that's what I need. it looks good I like it has an on off switch and clear easy to understand dials. as I say so far so good.

    Great - bought it to leave at my Dad's house so I can get the battery on his car re-charged whenever it goes flat.

    When I initially charged the battery, it was as flat as a pancake, to the extent that the charger got pretty hot. However, it did the job, and the battery was in great shape after the charging process was complete.

    The only thing that I didn't fully understand at the start was that the pointers actually REDUCE as the battery becomes more charged - I guess that's because the current required becomes less.

    However, once you realise that, it's great
